we’re pregnant!!

(and papa too! sorry, i couldn’t find a photo fast enough. kind of in a hurry )

this will be isabelle’s second flight. and once again, it’s just us. daddy is staying home to hold down the fort.

the first time i flew with isabelle, she was 3 months old and slept the entire time.

well, now – she’s going on 15 months and she hates to be held. now that she can walk, that’s all she wants to do.

so hopefully she’ll be ok with me holding her. i’m bringing tons of distractions for her.

i would like to go ahead and apologize to everyone that will be heading to raleigh tomorrow at 9:30 am from nashville. really sorry.

so pray for us, send postive thoughts our way, and hopefully we’ll get through this ok.

and to my awesome husband – i’m going to miss you sooooo much. and don’t forget to feed bruiser.

to the mosley family – here we come!!

i just love it! she looks like a teenager.

we’ve been pretty busy these last few weeks.

i’ve been doing photo shoots. isabelle’s been walking full time. and jared gave himself a pretty nasty haircut. (pics soon…)

he tried cutting it himself. and he was doing sooo great. until he got to the back. he claims that he’s done this before. he said he’s never messed up. he tried shaving the hair on the upper back of his neck to make the line even…  after a few minutes of attempting this on his own, he called for me to come help him. of course, i said yes.

i walk into the bathroom and grab the clippers. i told him to turn around so his back was facing me. and then, i saw it…

it was a diagonal mess. the highest point was about 2 inches above where the line should be. there were no words. all i could do was let my mouth hang open.

“umm, baby? whyyyyyy did you do this yourself??”

“what are you talking about? i always do this.”

“oh really…”

and then, he saw it…

so his hair line is 2 inches higher than normal. and there’s no way of hiding it. everyone noticed.

although i had no words at first, i now have laughter. it’s just hilarious to think about.

his hair is growing back, finally. and he will never cut his own hair again.

yesterday, we took a little trip to ‘dr. man.’

as soon as he walked into the door, isabelle started screaming at the top of her lungs. and not her typical playful scream. it was a scream of terror. tears that were the size of grapefruits fell down her face. and he hadn’t even done anything yet. i couldn’t hold her still for the check up.

i couldn’t understand what was wrong. she was fine for the nurse. she even talked to her in her cute little babbling voice. but as soon as dr. man said hi, it was over. nothing could be done.

after he was done checking her out, i had mom take her in the hallway to calm her down. i had questions for him and i couldn’t hear over isabelle’s crying.

i think she might be scared because he’s a man. does that sound silly? she’s seen a female doctor recently, and she was fine. she was fine with the female nurse. a few months ago, we took her in over a nasty cold. dr. man wasn’t there so we saw another male doctor. and she screamed the same way. has anyone else been through this? i think we may try another doctor next time. which i hate to do, because dr. man is a great doctor. he takes his time with us and he always answers our questions, even the ones we don’t think to ask. he’s just a great doctor. but i guess i have to do what’s best for isabelle. it’s not like he’s the only great doctor out there, huh?

on another note, isabelle got her first big girl car seat! (pics soon…. sorry)  she is now facing the front and loving it.

mostly when i tell her no. or pull her away from something she’s not suppose to be playing with, like an open can of dr. pepper.

oh and did i tell you why i pull her away from open cans of dr. pepper? last week, she picked one up, and as i was on my way to get her, she turned it upside down and giggled as it fizzed all over my freshly cleaned carpet. go ahead, laugh it up.

so the screaming has given me a small headache. what happened to good ol’ fashion crying?

i’ve been a little busy these past few weeks. i decided to dive face first into the world of photography.

my very first clients…

the white family let me have my first official photo shoot with them. and i must say, it turned out quite well.

i was proud of myself for overcoming fears and doubts about myself. if you haven’t heard, i’m my worst critic…

since then, i’ve had two photo shoots. both going very well.

and, every weekend this month is booked.

ok, back to isabelle!

she’s walking very well. she’s still learning her balance. and she still falls every now and then. but she can walk from our bedroom door to her bedroom door. those of you who have been to our house, understand how awesome that is.

she’s also learned a new trick…

i should’ve put her in a flower pot so her shirt would’ve matched.

just busy with a few other things…

isabelle has progressed quite well these past few weeks. she is walking better than ever. she can go from sitting down to standing up without holding on to anything. (wow!!) she is trying to say the same words that we say. and – her hair is finally starting to come in!

if you know isabelle, you know that she had more hair on the day she was born than she has had for the past 13 months. i noticed yesterday that it seems to be getting thicker and darker. and i am sooo happy about that! i can’t wait for pony tails, pig tails, and bows & ribbons.

isabelle is also learning to eat ‘big girl’ food. and she’s getting really good at it.

she’s also learning to take bites. in the photo below, jared held out a graham cracker with marshmellow cream on top. she looooved it…

she’s growing pretty fast!

i woke up to isabelle slapping me on my face.

when my eyes finally adjusted, i noticed i had presents and cards.

we went to church, and for lunch we enjoyed my favorite mexican restaurant.

we spent a few hours with my mom.

i got to go shopping for a little bit. (bought isabelle the cutest top ever.)

talked jared into buying me an ice cream cone from dairy queen. (absolute favorite.)

and we ended our day watching marley & me with my brother and jessica.

it was a perfect day.

i got to do things just for me & i also got to share my day with my favorite girl. the little girl who calls me mama.

i hope all you amazing moms had a wonderful and blessed mothers day.

for the past few days, i’ve realized that there is a possibility that i might be pregnant. when this realization first hit me on tuesday night, i almost cried. all i could think about was how we’re not in a position to have another baby. jared works for chrysler & if you watch the news at all, you’ll know that chrysler just filed bankruptcy. although they’re saying that this will eventually be a great move for them, the next two months will probably be awful.

so, here i am. thinking i might be pregnant. & chrysler just filed bankruptcy. wow. surely you can understand where i’m coming from.

over the next two days, i started thinking about how God always takes care of us. and if we are pregnant, we’ll be just fine. He will make a way.

and those thoughts led me to thinking about how wonderful it would be to have another baby. i loved being pregnant with isabelle. i was lucky – i never, not once, had morning sickness. until my belly started growing & she started kicking, i couldn’t even tell that i was pregnant. the whole pregnancy was smooth, up until the last two weeks. my blood pressure was up and my doctor put me on bed rest. but those last two weeks weren’t enough to erase my memory of a wonderful pregnancy.

a wonderful first pregnancy makes you want to be pregnant again. in 48 hours, i went from being stressed out about the thought of another baby, to trying to hide my joy. (i didn’t want to get too excited, just in case.)

thursday, i was tired of waiting for my cycle. (at this point, i was 5 days late. which never happens.) i loaded isabelle in the car and headed to walgreens. my mind was in a million different places. when i pulled isabelle out of her car seat, i noticed that her clothes didn’t even match. sorry about that isabelle…

we ran through the aisles trying to find the pregnancy tests. while i searched, i thought about how i was going to tell jared if the test said “pregnant.” i decided that i would go to babies r us & buy a t-shirt for isabelle that says “i’m going to be a big sister” and take her up to his office, hoping he would notice the shirt. i would then take the big-sister-to-be to my moms house. after we would share in excitement, i would make calls to dad & denise, & jareds parents and other members of our family. then, i would take a picture with my phone of isabelle in her new shirt and send it to everyone announcing the new baby.

well, i really had this planned out huh?

i picked out the test. i wanted the one that either flat out said “pregnant” or “not pregnant.” one or two strips wouldn’t work for me.

we rushed home. isabelle decided she was ready for a nap. i drank three glasses of water, hoping to speed up the process.

it’s finally judgement time. what was going through my head? “please say pregnant.”

yes. within 48 hours i had decided that i was ready for another child. if i was pregnant, i was going to jump for joy, rather than cry over money, or lack there of, for this child. i didn’t care about chrysler, i didn’t care how tight money would be. i was ready.

i have to wait two minutes…

all i could to was focus on breathing. deep breaths. don’t pass out.

i looked down at the floor where i had placed the test.

my heart skipped a beat as i read my results that had scanned across the little digital screen.

“not pregnant.”

my first thought was “wow, that’s a little harsh. they could at least use a sentence that wouldn’t sting so bad. like ‘i’m so sorry…’”

i had completely gotten my hopes up. tears formed in my eyes.

i placed my hand on my belly and said “soon.”

and yes. soon it will be.

these past 48 hours have made me realize that i can’t wait until 2010 to start trying again. and although i have no idea how we will take care of two babies at the same time, i know that isabelle will be an amazing big sister. and i know that everything will be just fine. i mean, it’s not like we’re the first family ever to have more than one child. if it can be done, we can do it.

we probably wont start trying right away. i don’t want to be pregnant through the summer. so hopefully at the end of summer, you’ll be seeing a blog that says, “pregnant.”

two years ago today, jared and i were making the ultimate commitment to each other. we were promising to love each other for the rest of our lives. til’ death do us part.

it was a beautiful day. it went very fast & if it weren’t for all the photos, i don’t think i remember much. expect for the fact that i cried like a baby while i was walking down the aisle.

seriously. have you ever seen will & grace? if you have then i’m sure you’ve seen the face that grace makes when she cries. and that was soooo me.

but it was the most beautiful day of my life. i felt like a princess.

and i’m so thankful that god bless me with such an amazing husband. we’re like two peas in a pod. we are totally meant for each other. he’s my best friend. he has shown me what love really is. i love you so much baby it’s been an amazing two years.

isabelle & i are feeling a little better today. although i still sound like a man. but i feel better so we’re making progress.

bruiser made us laugh this morning. it was so funny i kept rewinding the commercial just so he’d keep doing it…

he whined & barked until i feel on the floor laughing. it was too funny

we also took a trip to wal-mart. isabelle is loving her big girl foods so we went and got some more.

we spent the afternoon playing while we waited for daddy to get home.

oh, and isabelle has learned how to play peek-a-boo! it’s sooo cute. next time i can get her to do it, i’ll try to catch it on video. for now – you will have to settle for a cute video that was made today. isabelle learned another trick… go here to see. it’s adorable!!

then friday came. and i got sick. i completely understood why isabelle was screaming. if i didn’t know how to talk and had no way of communication other than crying – i would’ve been screaming my head off too.

it was just awful. i haven’t been that sick in a long time. i can’t even remember the last time i was that sick.

but we did what we could to get through it.

we ate big girl foods… (turkey, cottage cheese & watermelon)

and washed it down with some milk…

we spent time playing…

and then we worked on our “daddy i’m so sick” faces.

today is monday. isabelle’s nose is still running & i still sound like a man.

i think we’re both feeling better than we did, but we still need some good rest and relaxation.
